Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 18, 2026
This privacy policy explains what personal information Novacq Alerts collects, why we collect it, how we store it, and what choices you have. It is written in plain language for the people who use the service.
Who we are
Novacq Alerts is operated by Sokhjit Singh Bhamra under the registered Alberta trade name “Novacq.” Novacq is not an incorporated company.
Novacq Alerts is an independent information service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Alberta Energy Regulator or any government body.

What this service is right now
Novacq Alerts lets Alberta landowners create an account, register a property by its legal land location, and see public regulatory activity near that property on a live map. These features are available now.
Automated email alerts and paid plans are not active yet. Creating an account and registering a property does not currently trigger any automated email notifications. We will update this policy before automated email alerts or payments are turned on.
What information we collect
Account information you provide
- Your email address and the password you choose, used to create and sign in to your account. Authentication is handled by Supabase (described below); your password is stored by Supabase in hashed form and is not visible to us.
- Your name, if you choose to provide it.
- Your property location, entered as a legal land description (quarter section, section, township, range, and meridian under the Alberta Dominion Land Survey system).
- Your selected monitoring radius (how far from your property regulatory activity matters to you).
- Your consent acknowledgment, including the wording you agreed to and when you agreed to it.
Information handled by the services we use
- Hosting and infrastructure logs: The providers that host and deliver the website and database (including Netlify and Supabase) may process or temporarily retain your IP address and basic request details in their own operational logs as part of normal web hosting. Novacq does not control those provider logs.
- Mapping and land-lookup services: When you use the live map or search a legal land location, your browser contacts public services directly — the Government of Alberta’s Alberta Township System (for land boundaries) and map imagery providers (for satellite tiles). Those services may receive your IP address and request details as part of delivering the map. They operate under their own policies and are not controlled by Novacq.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for or collect your phone number, mailing address, payment or financial information, or government-issued identification. Novacq Alerts does not currently process any payments.
Why we collect this information
- Email and password: So you can create a secure account and sign in to manage your registered property.
- Name: So we can address communications to you, if you provide it.
- Property location and monitoring radius: So we can show activity near your property on your map and, when automated alerts are active, notify you about the area that matters to you.
- Consent record: So we have an accurate record of what you agreed to and when.
How we store your information
Your account and property data are stored in a hosted database and authentication service provided by Supabase, Inc., a company based in San Francisco, California. Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside Canada.
The website itself is hosted by Netlify, Inc., which serves the web pages. Netlify may process your request through servers located outside Canada.
When automated email alerts are activated in the future, we plan to use Resend as our email delivery provider. Resend is not currently sending any messages on behalf of Novacq Alerts.
These providers each have their own privacy policies and data-handling practices. Novacq uses them to operate the service, but their handling of operational data (such as server logs) is governed by their own policies.
Access to your account data is protected by database access rules that restrict each account to its own records. The website does not contain any secret or administrative database credentials in the code delivered to your browser.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
The service providers listed above (Supabase, Netlify, and in future Resend) receive or process data as part of operating Novacq Alerts.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by Canadian law or a valid legal process.
What you are agreeing to
When you check the consent box during account registration, you are agreeing to receive electronic messages from Novacq Alerts about:
- Your account and registered property
- The activation and availability of automated property-monitoring alerts
- Service-related updates relevant to your account
You are not agreeing to receive unrelated marketing, messages from other companies, or communications about products other than Novacq Alerts.
Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires consent before sending commercial electronic messages. We collect your express consent during registration for this purpose.
Withdrawing consent: You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing sunny@novacq.ca. If you withdraw consent, we will stop sending you electronic messages. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of any communications sent before you withdrew.
Your choices
You may contact us at sunny@novacq.ca to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction if any of your information is inaccurate.
- Withdraw your consent to receive electronic communications.
- Request deletion of your registration and personal information.
These requests are currently handled manually. No automated self-service account or deletion mechanism is available at this time. We will respond within a reasonable time.
How long we keep your information
We retain your account and property data for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to operate the service for you.
If you request deletion, we will remove your personal information within a reasonable time. We have not yet established a fixed retention schedule or automatic deletion process.
Security
We take precautions to protect the information we collect, including:
- Handling sign-in and passwords through Supabase authentication, so your password is stored in hashed form and is not visible to us.
- Restricting account data with database access rules so each account can read and change only its own records.
- Keeping all secret and administrative credentials out of the website code delivered to your browser.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
Children
Novacq Alerts is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Regulatory information disclaimer
Novacq Alerts provides information based on publicly available regulatory records, shown for general awareness only.
- Official regulatory records and any legally required notices remain the responsibility of the relevant government authorities.
- Novacq does not guarantee complete, timely, or error-free coverage of regulatory activity.
- Geographic locations used for monitoring are calculated approximations based on the Alberta Dominion Land Survey grid. They are not survey-grade measurements and should not be treated as official property boundaries.
- Novacq Alerts is not a substitute for checking official regulatory records yourself or obtaining professional legal advice.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
